BA in Art-Thomas Edison State College

I started teaching art in the middle school at Wellington Christian School in 1997.  That same year, students and I established “SPLASH” Art Club, which has been meeting every Tuesday after school.  This art group has been winning awards and serving our community since it was first started.  Four years ago, I became the faculty sponsor for chapters of the National Art Honor Society and its Junior division.  Through teaching classes and these three after-school groups, I have been encouraged and truly blessed by the creative abilities and enthusiasm of the art students at Wellington Christian School.  Working alongside the students is where I get my greatest joy.

Last year I had the privilege of being the Junior class sponsor and have “moved up” with this group of fine young men and women as their senior class sponsor this year. I have known and taught many of these students since they started middle school, and it will be a proud and bittersweet time to see them graduate at the end of the year into their future lives.  It has been an honor to work with and to serve these students.

Before coming to WCS, I was a free-lance artist and taught private lessons while raising my two daughters who attended Wellington Christian School from pre-school through eighth grade.  Both daughters now attend Florida colleges, and I continue to do free-lance artwork in my spare time.  My husband John, myself, and my two daughters have been members of Wellington Presbyterian Church (PCA) since 1987.  Our family resides in Royal Palm Beach.
